A much-loved children’s story is getting a brand-new stage adaptation this Christmas, with the full cast now announced for its world premiere in London.
The Wind in the Willows will open at the Rose Theatre in Kingston upon Thames on 25 November 2026, running until 3 January 2027.
Based on Kenneth Grahame’s classic novel, the new production has been written by Rob Evans, with music by John Biddle.
Julian Holt will lead the cast as the mischievous Toad, with James Pedley-Holden playing Mole. Kingdom Sibanda joins as Ratty, while Tori Burgess takes on the role of Badger. Charlotte Mills will play the scheming Chief Weasel.
This version follows the four friends as their peaceful lives by the river are threatened by Chief Weasel’s plans.
With Toad Hall in danger and Christmas approaching, shy Mole must find the courage to help save the day.
The production will also feature young performers from the Rose Youth Theatre, appearing alongside the professional cast.
Director Owen Horsley returns to the venue after directing its 2025 Christmas production of Cinderella.
